Manav Ekta Samagam (Washington D.C.) Report Day 1

Rev. Praduman Singh ji presided the satsang held at Rev. B K Gogia ji’s residence on Saturday 22nd April 2006. Saints came from Atlanta, Missisipi, North Carolina, Tennese, Virginia and Maryland. The saints shared the message of love, peace and tolerance that can be achieved through divine enlightenent and knowledge of one God.

 

Rev.Praduman Singh ji  in his discourse said with the blessing  of satguru we have all gathered here to share His Holiness’s teachings and our experiences  of our life which enlightened our soul. By this satsang we are not only enlightening ourselves but also spreading the light of this divine knowledge. Due to this human body  and its luxuries man is spending his time in accumulating the luxuries of life and forgetting his priority. To remind mankind of his priorities saints come and acknowledge us with them. We are so busy buying new cars, getting better jobs but is the life all about running after these worldly pleasures? Saints say if you cannot become anything in life try to become a good human being. There could be difference in the way of education but facts and formulas never change. Similarly there are different religions and ways to pray God but God is one and never changes.

 

The sole purpose of this life is to know the supreme almighty. A gursikh is blessed with the divine knowledege by his Guru so that he doesn’t have to struggle to know this truth. But after knowing this nirakar (almighty), if you are still lost in maya (worldly pleasures) then you are leading a life no better than an animal. And the perosn who realizes and remembers this gyan (divine kowledge) achieves the status of true gursikh(devotee). He then is blessed with peace, solace and contentment accompanied with  complete surrenderence to God.

 

Once a devotee asked Baba Gurbachan ji , “What do you give the saints when they come to you?” and Baba ji replied “I give them the key to spiritual wealth”.Guru’s words are like blessings which drives this ‘manmatt’ away and inspires us with ‘gurmatt’. And when our soul realizes that it’s the part of this supreme sould the cycle of birth and re-birth is terminated. Today we are praying God without knowing Him. Its same as touching the sky without knowing what it is. Baba ji always says that first know God and then pray Him so that we know the way to salvation and do not get lost in worldly pleasures. The same gyan was given to Arjun in Geeta by Lord Krishna.

 

To keep ourselves focused and motivated towards moving forward on this path of divine knowledge its important that we do satsang. For instance plants growing near the sandalwood inherit the fragrance of sandalwood similarly saints when go to satsang they inherit the good human qualities like love, gratitude and contentment. This almighty is omnipresent so He knows whatever we do.Thus Baba ji always teach us to remember His presence and always do satkaram (good deeds). When satkaram becomes our character we automatically promote universal brotherhood. When we eternally proceed on our path to salvation with satsang we achieve the goal of our life. And our success in achieving our goal becomes our Guru’s success and pride. Baba Gurbachan Singh ji always promoted universal brotherhood. He gave his life to bring this mankind together ironing out the differences of cast , creed and colour. Let’s all pray in holy feet of Baba ji to bless us with the strength to spread this message of love and unity.
